Delete your HAPPYN account

From the app — the fastest way

1. Open HAPPYN and go to your Profile.
2. Tap the settings icon, then scroll to “Account Actions”.
3. Tap “Delete Account”. The screen shows exactly what will happen to your tickets and events.
4. Type your email address to confirm. Deletion is immediate.

Without the app

Write to contact@happynevents.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm it's really you, then delete the account within 30 days and tell you when it's done.

When deletion has to wait

We won't let a deletion cost anyone money. It is paused while:

• you hold a paid ticket for an upcoming event — cancel it to be refunded, or transfer it. Past the cancellation deadline, you can delete your account once the event is over;
• you've sold paid tickets for an upcoming event — cancel the event first, which refunds your buyers;
• you have organizer earnings that haven't been paid out yet — deleting would cut the link to your payout account.

What is deleted

• Your profile: name, username, photo, bio, city, interests and date of birth.
• Your posts and their photos, your comments, your likes, who you follow and who follows you.
• Your favourites, notifications, blocked list and push notification tokens.
• Your free tickets for upcoming events — the spot goes back on sale.
• Your upcoming events: deleted if nobody has a ticket, otherwise cancelled and every attendee notified.
• The link to your payout account with our payment partner, Stripe.

What is kept, and why

• Payment records, without your name, for as long as Canadian tax law requires — generally six years.
• Past tickets and past events, detached from your profile, so other attendees keep their history. Your past events show “Organizer deleted”.
• Private messages you sent stay with the person who received them, shown as from “Deleted account” — like a letter, a message also belongs to its recipient. Once both people in a conversation have left HAPPYN, it is erased for good.
• Reports you made to our moderation team, without your name.

Stripe keeps its own records of payments and payouts, under its own privacy policy.
